Introduction

The key objective of this course is to provide participants with a thorough appreciation of the fundamental principle of the Injection Moulding Process. This course is aimed to assist companies who want to develop effective and continual improvements to their injection moulding process.

Participants will understand the injection moulding process better —  plastic flow, types of ejection, gates system, types of mould, mould set-up preparation, mould defects & their causes, countermeasure, and types of plastics material, etc.  They will learn about the importance of process stability, the quality of the moulded part, and the correct way to trouble shoot.

Learning Outcomes

  • A thorough understanding of the fundamentals of injection molding process, typical injection molding machine, mold set-up and standard procedure of shutting down injection molding machine
  • Understand the fundamentals of plastic flow and types of injection molding machine
  • Overview of the fundamental movements of injection molding machine, type of ejection, type of gates, and type of molds
  • Understand the major types thermoplastic materials i.e. Commodity and Engineering Thermoplastics
  • Systematically approach in correcting molding defects, their causes and countermeasure
